South Africa’s biggest gathering of speedo-clad men welcomes radical self-expression Secret Sunrisers to join in the fun for a good cause.

With days to go before the 2017 Hollard Daredevil Run on 24 March, Secret Sunrise has let the cat out of the bag about their collaboration with the ballsiest event of the year.

Immediately following the Run, which sees men and boys of all ages, shapes and Speedo sizes suck in their stomachs and take to the streets in support of male cancer awareness, the Secret Sunrise event will take place at the Johannesburg Zoo Lake at 5:30 pm, with a yoga session taking place before the main event for all those who have gathered to support the men.

“The Secret Sunrise event sees like-minded individuals gather together and welcomes radical self-expression, movement, love, connection and uniting for a common cause. We are so excited to host the next Secret Sunrise event at the Daredevil Run Johannesburg, and especially to support male cancer awareness alongside the bravest men in SA,” says Jaime Beron, co-founder of Secret Sunrise.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation will receive 10% of all Secret Sunrise ticket proceeds, as part of the Daredevil Run’s efforts to ensure the fight against men’s cancers is taken to the streets.

“This collaboration adds a new dynamic to a male-only event,” says Warwick Bloom, Marketing Communications Manager at Hollard. “Every year, we receive such great support from ladies and families around the country, and this year, we’ve collaborated with Secret Sunrise to offer everyone a way to join in and show their support for this amazing cause.”

Daredevils will be let loose along a pre-determined five-kilometre route starting from Johannesburg Zoo Lake, as well as satellite venues in Cape Town, Durban and Mbombela, at 15h00 on Friday, 24 March 2017.

Men and boys of any age who would like to participate in the run can go to www.daredevilrun.com to register themselves. They can also challenge a friend, relative or colleague to join them in running cancer clean out of town.

Importantly, runners, female fans and loved ones who would like to participate in the post-run Secret Sunrise event can purchase tickets from Nutickets for R125.00 for adults and R75.00 for students and children under 12, or join in for the free yoga class on the day.
