Rules & regulations
As a Daredevil participant, you must obey the instructions of the road traffic officers and marshals, and comply with the rules of the road, except where you’re authorised by traffic officers and marshals. It’s especially important that you stay on the sections of the road demarcated for you – so no spontaneous streaking please.
As a Daredevil Runner, you may not sell your entry number, nor allow anyone else to participate in the run using your unique number. It’s yours alright? And yours alone. This is so we can keep you safe in case of an emergency.
The entry fee is R150.00 per adult and we ask for a donation or either R50, R100 or R150 for under eighteens. ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE because we don’t want you to chicken out at the last minute. And your cash is going to a really good cause.
There’s a whole bunch of stuff that we’re legally obliged to tell you:
As a participant, you must complete the run in two hours or less (so get training!). If you fail to reach the cut-off point in a specified time, you’ll be loaded into the back of a truck and put out of your misery. Only kidding – but we will ask you to withdraw from the run. At that time we will need to withdraw our support services and reopen the route to normal traffic.
The Hollard Daredevil Run Office reserves the right to alter the routes as we see fit in terms of safety, traffic and construction.
Participants take part entirely at their own risk and agree that they shall have no claim whatsoever against the Hollard Daredevil Run Office or its representatives, any individual or official, marshal, assistant, helper or agent, the sponsors or any local authority or their employees, in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever which participants may suffer arising from any injury to their person or loss or damage to their property as a result of, or arising out of, whether directly or indirectly, the participants’ arrival and departure there from, attendance at registration, prizegiving or other function thereof, any loss or damage to any other equipment. Persons signing this entry form as guardian of a minor hereby consent to such minor being bound by the aforegoing and further indemnify the organisers and aforementioned parties to the extent, of any, to which such minor is not capable of waiving his rights as stipulated above. Persons taking part in the Hollard Daredevil Run as part of a team and whose entries were made on their behalf are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions by virtue of their participation herein.
The participant agrees to abide by the rules, and confirms that he has read them, and understands that he takes part in the Hollard Daredevil Run at his own risk and indemnifies the sponsors and/or organisers against any claim which may result from his participation. The participant further understands that it is his responsibility to be medically fit to take part in the Hollard Daredevil Run. This indemnity applies equally to teams entering under the rules and conditions of entry. In entering the Hollard Daredevil Run, the participant understands that the organising committee will take photographs of the event, including participants to the event, and he consents to such photographs being taken at the event and being used for promotional and publicity purposes at the organising committee’s sole discretion. The participant further understands and accepts that the photographs are and will remain the property of the sponsors and/or organisers.
